These bookmarklets have made my research more efficient. To install, simply drag the link to your bookmark folder and rename as appropriate.
Note: Most of these bookmarklets are designed for use at UNC-Chapel Hill. Feel free to modify them for your institution.
Google Booksearch
---
Description: This bookmarklet will look up an Amazon book in Google Booksearch. If the book is indexed and previewing is allowed, you will be able to leaf through the book before you purchase.
Amazon Lookup
---
Description: This bookmarklet will look up an Amazon book, album or movie in UNC's library catalog. To use, load an Amazon product page and then click on the Amazon Lookup bookmarklet. You will be directed to the item in the UNC library catalog. This bookmarklet uses keywords as opposed to ISBN/ISSN or title lookups - I found this lookup method to be successful most often (though it will not work all the time).
UNC Libproxy
---
Description: This bookmarklet will push any resource through the UNC Library Proxy. For example, if you come acress an article but aren't on campus, simply click the proxy bookmarklet and you'll be provided authenticated access to the material. Of course, this Bookmarklet won't work for content to which the university does not subscribe.
